Training built by the people who lived the obligations.
Nineteen years on average inside Canadian dealer members — supervision, registration, AML and trade desk oversight — poured into a curriculum for regulated financial dealers.
It started with a binder nobody read.
In 2019 our founders were running supervision at an institutional dealer in Toronto. The firm mandatory training was a 240-slide deck, an annual attestation, and a spreadsheet that nobody could reconcile when the regulator asked for it.
The content was not wrong. It was simply not written for the people taking it — institutional traders, block desk supervisors, prime brokerage staff and registration teams whose daily decisions look nothing like a retail advisor. Completion rates were high. Retention was not.
We built securitieslearning.ca to close that gap. Every Institutional DMTP module starts from a real supervisory scenario, maps to a specific rule reference, and produces a record designed from the format regulators actually request.
Make mandatory training worth the hour it takes.
Our mission is to raise the standard of conduct across the Canadian institutional dealer community by making regulatory training specific, current, and provable.
Specific beats comprehensive
A 40-minute module on institutional order handling that a trader remembers is worth more than a six-hour survey course they click through.
Current or it does not ship
Rule changes trigger a review within five business days and a re-issued module within thirty. Retired content is archived, not deleted.
The record is the deliverable
Time-on-task, attempt history, score, content version and an immutable timestamp, per learner and per module, exportable in one click.
Four things the large training vendors will not do.
- Refuse the retail crossover. Institutional DMTP content is authored separately from anything retail.
- Publish the rule map. Every module ships with a mapping table showing which obligation each objective addresses.
- Ingest your policies. Firm-specific streams are built from your own supervisory procedures and past findings.
- Keep it in Canada. Data residency, bilingual delivery, and support in your compliance department time zone.
